Three golden tips for padel players: This way you can save up to €400 a year!

Padel racket tip broken

Padel is great, but it can also be a very expensive hobby, especially if you are an active fan. The purchase of padel rackets is one of the biggest costs of the padel hobby. An active player may have to buy a new racket several times a year.

On average, padel players use 2-3 rackets a year and they cost 150-200 euros each. By reading this blog post, you might get good tips on how you can save that 1-2 rackets per year, i.e. 150-400€ on average.

Money-saving tip 1: Using a padel racket tip guard

Most of the hits and bumps on the racket come from glass, floor or side netting hits. Hitting the edge hard enough on the glass or side netting is one of the most common reasons why a racket breaks. A big enough blow will first cause a small notch or crack in the edge. After a while, the crack starts to spread towards the center of the racket, breaking the racket once and for all. The same happens, for example, to a car's windshield when it gets hit by a stone.

You can protect the tip of your padel racket by using a tip guard. A tip guard is an easy and affordable way to bring more playing time to a valuable game tool. The protector is installed on the tip of the club with an adhesive surface, so that it is the first to receive the impact when the edge of the club collides. In addition to protecting the racket from hits, it also prevents the crack from expanding, allowing you to play longer with your paddle racket.

Benefits of the tip guard:

  1. Racket protection : Padel racket frame protectors help prevent damage to the tip of the racket. The tip of the racket easily hits the glass wall, floor or side net, which can damage the racket. With the help of the tip protection, the padel racket remains intact for longer.
  2. Longer life for padel racket : Frame protectors reduce wear and scratching of the club tip. This means you can use the same racket for longer before you need a new one.
  3. You save money : When the racket is not damaged as easily, you save money in the long run. You don't have to buy a new racket as often, which can significantly reduce the costs of your padel hobby.
  4. Environmental friendliness : The production of padel rackets causes environmental impacts, so by keeping your racket in good condition for longer, you can also do your part for the environment by reducing the amount of garbage.

Money saving tip 2: Talk in the field

The second most common reason for a racket breaking is that the rackets collide with a playing partner. This is quite typical when the shot goes right in the middle of the players, in which case both try to hit the ball at the same time. Those who have played for a longer time understand this, which is why you may hear a lot of talk in padel games.

So it's worth talking a lot with your teammate about what's happening on the field. You can agree with the game partner in advance who will take more from the middle and how you will tell who is hitting. Suitable are, for example, "I'll take it", "I", "Yes", etc. Just by talking, you might save several hundred a year when your racket stays intact.

Money-saving tip 3: Padel Racket maintenance

In addition to the frame protector and the spoke, it is also important to remember the maintenance of the racket. Always store the racket in a bag, and clean it regularly. Remember to always check after games that there is no damage to the racket. If you notice damage to your racket, as a first aid, put tape on it to prevent the crack from expanding. After that, get a good tip guard to replace it, so you might be able to play with the same racket for several more weeks or months.

Summary

Padel is a great hobby, but it can also be expensive, especially if you have to buy new rackets often. Padel racket frame guards offer a great way to save money in the long run. They protect your racket from damage and extend the life of the racket, which saves you a lot of money and helps keep your budget in check.

Also remember to talk a lot on the court and maintain your racket regularly so that it stays in good condition for as long as possible. With these tips, you can enjoy padel more and stress less on your wallet.

The story behind it:

My padel journey started five years ago in Finland. I quickly had to get a new racket and a few months later another one. I calculated that during the year I spent about €500 on clubs. After getting this figured out, I started testing different tip protectors. A few very good options were found, but they were:

  1. a) too heavy, in which case the racket became too tip-heavy
  2. b) the surface material of the shield did not slide against the glass, so the impact stopped

When no suitable protection was found, I started testing different materials that would be suitable for this purpose. That's where the idea of owning an online store started. Now there are several different covers in the selection that have been designed in cooperation with Finnish active enthusiasts, competition and national team players.

Here are a couple of feedbacks from our customers:

"Protect the racket and save the wallet"

The bat has clearly lasted longer. In the past, 3-4 pieces were lost per year, and the reason for the breakage was always a crack in the edge around two o'clock. First, there was a small crack from which the crack began to expand. Now I've been playing with the same racket for almost a year, so I've saved at least two rackets."

"Doesn't affect playability and really protects"

The tip protectors I tested earlier always hit the glass wall, so the protectors that came with the racket had to be torn off. This guard glides very well, so the shot goes all the way. No more points have been lost because of it.
